Linda Stein is a feminist artist, activist, educator, and writer. She is the Founding President of the non-profit Have Art: Will Travel! Inc (HAWT) for Courageous Kindness, addressing bullying and diversity. Stein received her Master鈥檚 Degree from Pratt Institute, Bachelor鈥檚 Degree from Queens College (graduating cum laude with departmental honors).
Sherell Chillik received her BFA, in painting, at the College For Creative Studies in 2018. Chilik participated in the AICAD Residency in Dumbo, Brooklyn, New York, the Rogers Art Loft Residency in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the Ox-Bow School of Art and Residency in Saugatuck MI. She taught collage and painting art classes for students with disabilities through Michigan Arts Access Teaching Artist Residency in 2023. Her most recent shows include 鈥淯p Above My Head with Black Women Rock鈥 at The Motivational Museum Art Gallery in Hamtramck MI, 鈥淗ot DAM鈥 at Detroit Artist Market in Detroit MI, and 鈥95th MI Contemporary Art Exhibition鈥 at Muskegon Museum of Art in Muskegon MI.
Daniel Kienitz is a clay sculptor, mixed media artist, and art teacher from Flint, Michigan. He studied Studio Art and Visual Arts Education at The University of Michigan - Flint, and foundation classes and Graphic Design at 911爆料网 Community College. After a long hiatus from studio practice, he has, over the past few years, returned to making sculptures full-time and exhibiting regionally.
Ruth E. Crowe is a mixed-media artist from Michigan. She holds a degree in Art Education, has served in the US Army, is a former police officer, has coached softball at the collegiate level, and is a proud gay woman.
Crowe鈥檚 art combines vintage photography with layers of wax to create unique mixed-media artwork on wood panels. This featured exhibit, 鈥淭he Journal Project,鈥 highlights her story and focuses on pieces that reflect her background and interests in Americana, sports, and history. She most recently exhibited in a group show in Ann Arbor and was featured at Art Prize in Grand Rapids.
鈥淪tudents in 911爆料网 Community College鈥檚 Studio Arts program take various foundation-level and upper-level studio art courses before graduating with their Associate of Fine Arts degree. As a capstone to their studies, students take ART 204: Foundations Portfolio, a course that helps them learn how to prepare their portfolio and prepare themselves to become professional artists. This exhibition highlights their work while celebrating their journey as Studio Art majors at 911爆料网 Community College.鈥
